Back To School

If you've got kids like I do, you know it's back to school time. It's also a great time to step back and take a look at your business and identify what else you need to learn to keep it growing and moving forward. I'm a believer in constantly learning. It's a must in my book if you want to be successful in your own business. The world and technology are changing so rapidly that if you don't keep up with your continuing education or professional development, you will quickly fall behind. And that is no way to maintain a competitive advantage.

My focus for learning over the past two years has been everything Internet-related. First it was websites and email marketing. And at the beginning of this year is was blogs and podcasting. In fact, many of the things I am doing now to market and grow my business, I didn't even understand a year ago. But by attending seminars, buying information products and hiring mentors and coaches, I've been able to learn and start implementing them. It's exciting to me. Because not only is my business growing and evolving, but so am I.

I encourage you to look at your areas of weakness, or the things you'd like to learn more about and take steps today. Sign up for a class. Buy a book. Hire a coach. Just do something to keep yourself and your business moving forward.
