In addition to my 10stepmarketing business and website, I also run a site called Twin Connections. I'm a fraternal twin and I've always been interested in the unique bond my twin sister and I share. There's always been this connection between us that could only be explained by the fact that we were twins.
So I started Twin Connections to collect and share stories from other twins worldwide. And I've received some amazing stories indeed. Stories that make the connection my sister and I share pale in comparison.
Since this project is more a labor of love than a business right now, I needed to find ways to market it that didn't cost anything. So I turned to link trading. Why? Twin websites are easy to find through a quick Google search. I also figured that since I wasn't selling anything, but rather was offering a place for twins to share their stories, that other sites would have no reason NOT to want to link to my site.
And lastly, I had already put links to all of these other twin sites on Twin Connections.
So I sent off emails letting them all know I had linked to their site, asking them to link to mine. And nearly everyone said yes! With all these content relevant sites linking to my site, I started getting more traffic and Twin Connections started moving up in the search engine rankings.
And the twin stories started pouring in! Ah, free marketing at its best!
